Woman, 46, Found Dead After Suspected Drug Injection in Stratford
Aksana Torkliene, 46, was tragically found dead in her Victoria Street home, Stratford, on June 10. The grim discovery has triggered a police probe and an ongoing inquest.
Emergency Call Ends in Heartbreak
Aksana’s husband dialled 999 late afternoon, fearing she wasn’t breathing. Paramedics from London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene but sadly declared her dead on arrival.
Drugs and Arrests Rock Investigation
- Police found Aksana had used heroin and crack cocaine earlier that day.
- Evidence suggests she was injected with drugs by another person.
- Two men, aged 56 and 61, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of manslaughter.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “They have since been released on bail as enquiries continue. Officers believe this to be an isolated incident.”
Multi-Drug Toxicity Confirmed as Cause of Death
Coroner Graeme Irvine revealed the post-mortem ruled the cause of death as multi-drug toxicity linked to injected drug use. He apologised for delays obtaining the report, calling them “regrettable.”
Aksana’s full inquest is pencilled in for May next year as investigators seek answers into this heartbreaking case.
