Man Charged with Murder in Tottenham Granny's Death

Shocking Find on Reynardson Road

Police were called on Monday 13 January to a welfare check at a property on Reynardson Road, N17. Officers forced their way inside and discovered the body of 74-year-old Pepita Sarikecili, also known as Pepita Garcia.

Detectives believe Pepita died last December. A postmortem revealed she suffered blunt force trauma.

Suspect in Custody, Court Dates Set

  • Dominic Whitton, 41, from Reynardson Road, was initially charged on 22 January with preventing a lawful burial.
  • On 6 October, Whitton was hit with more serious charges — murder and manslaughter — at Wood Green Crown Court.
  • He pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to return to court on Friday, 12 December.

The investigation is ongoing as police pursue justice for Pepita Sarikecili.
