A woman was left horrified after getting an email confirming a whopping £2,400 purchase she never made. The haul? An Apple iPhone, iPad, and a Virtue headset – supposedly snapped up from Currys in Collierwood.

CCTV Catches Sneaky Scam Duo Red-Handed

She rushed to Currys to report the fraud. Staff showed her CCTV footage revealing a black couple completing the transaction – and it wasn’t her daughter. A store assistant confirmed her daughter was never served and burned the footage onto a disc for the police. But when she asked, they refused to hand her a copy directly.

Police Stonewall Victim as Finance Firm Comes Under Fire

She contacted the police but was given only a CAD number with zero real support. The culprit? Likely a hack of Creations Finance, the buy-now-pay-later lender behind the deal. Although the payment isn’t due for another year, she’s already battling to clear her name.

Anxiety Hits Hard – Bank and Action Fraud Get Called In

The stress took its toll – her daughter spent the night vomiting with anxiety. The bank refused to connect her to their fraud team and merely cancelled the direct debit to Creations Finance. Thankfully, Action Fraud stepped in to lead the investigation.

Warning for Shoppers Using Creations Finance

If you’re using Creations Flexi Credit at Currys or anywhere else, watch out for this scam-savvy couple. They’re experts at swiping pricey tech. And if you’re suddenly offered a shiny new iPhone, iPad, or Virtue headset out of the blue, contact the police immediately.
