Dog Owner Guilty of Heartless Cruelty – Siberian Husky Dies in Agony
Jane Francis, 52, from Wricklemarsh Road, has been found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to her beloved Siberian husky, Simba. The dog’s horrifying neglect came to light during a grim trial.
Simba Left to Suffer with Rotten Wound and No Food
Between November 19 and December 19 last year, Francis failed to feed Simba properly and ignored a deep, festering wound on his hind leg. Magistrates condemned her cold-hearted neglect, saying, “You caused prolonged suffering which should have been obvious to you and ultimately the dog died.”
Suspended Jail Term and Heavy Fines for Francis
On Friday, September 12, Bromley Magistrates’ Court handed Francis a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. She was also ordered to undergo mental health treatment and rehabilitation. On top of that, she must fork out £2,000 towards the RSPCA’s costs and a £154 surcharge.
10-Year Ban to Stop Francis Owning Pets Again
The court slapped Francis with a 10-year ban on keeping any pets, a tough but necessary ruling to protect animals from future abuse under her care.
