Teen Stabbed to Death in Moss Side Horror
A 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death in broad daylight on a street in Manchester’s Moss Side, sparking a major murder probe by Greater Manchester Police (GMP).
Deadly Attack Rocks Moss Side
The violent attack happened just after 4.30pm on Monday, 15 September 2025, on Monton Street in Moss Side. Emergency services were rushed to the scene after reports of a disturbance involving several people.
Officers found the teenager with multiple stab wounds. Despite treatment at the scene and a quick hospital rush, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police Launch Urgent Murder Investigation
GMP have not named the victim and no arrests have been made yet. A senior officer called the killing “an appalling act” and urged witnesses to come forward.
Police have stepped up patrols in Moss Side and activated stop and search powers under Section 60 of the 1994 Criminal Justice and Public Order Act for 24 hours—a move used after serious violent crimes.
Community in Shock as Investigation Continues
Chief Superintendent David Meeney from GMP’s City of Manchester division expressed heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and friends. “We’re providing specialist support to those affected,” he said.
He acknowledged the shock and sadness felt across the local community.
Forensic teams are combing the scene, with Moss Lane East closed between Lloyd Street North and Broadfield Road, plus Monton Street and parts of Lloyd Street North, as the investigation carries on.
