Emergency services rushed to the scene of a serious crash in Romford this morning which left three children and two adults in hospital.

Emergency Response in Rush Green Road

The incident happened at the junction of Rush Green Road and Leonard Avenue at around 10.50am (27 August).

Metropolitan Police officers and London Ambulance Service (LAS) crews attended, where five people were found injured.

Two adults and three children received treatment at the roadside before being taken to hospital. One of the children was taken as a priority patient, though the condition of all five casualties remains unknown at this stage.

Statement From London Ambulance Service

A LAS spokesperson said:

“We were called at 10.50am today (27 August) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Rush Green Road and Leonard Avenue, Romford.

We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.

We treated two adults and three children in total before taking them all to a local hospital. We took one child to hospital as a priority.”

Road Closures and Bus Diversions

Rush Green Road remains closed in both directions while emergency services deal with the aftermath of the crash.

Transport for London (TfL) confirmed that bus routes 5, 103, 128, 175 and 499 are all on diversion.

Police Enquiries Underway

The Metropolitan Police have been approached for further details. It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved.
