A woman has tragically died following a serious fire at a property on Lordship Lane in Wood Green, believed to be a  supported housing facility.

The London Ambulance Service confirmed it was called to the scene at 2.20pm on Saturday, 21 June, after reports of a fire with a person involved. Crews responded swiftly with multiple emergency resources, including ambulance teams, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance.

A London Ambulance spokesperson said:

“We treated a woman at the scene before taking her to a London major trauma centre.”

Despite the best efforts of emergency personnel, the woman is believed to have died as a result of the incident.

London Fire Brigade crews responded to the blaze.  The cause of the fire is under investigation, and a crime scene is believed to remain in place.

Local authorities have not yet confirmed the victim’s identity. Next of kin are expected to be informed.

Care Managers and emergency services are working together to assess the cause and impact of the incident.

A spokesman for the  Metropolitan Police said  Officers were called at 13:59hrs on Saturday, 21 June to assist the London Fire Brigade at a fire at a hostel in Lordship Lane, N22.

A 30-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she sadly later died. The woman’s family have been informed.

Met officers carried out enquiries alongside fire investigators and they determined the cause of the fire was not suspicious.
