Tragic Death in Purton House Fire – Man in 60s Dies Overnight
A man in his 60s has died after a devastating house fire in the quiet village of Purton, near Swindon, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Blaze Breaks Out Just Before Dawn
Emergency crews rushed to The Pry, Purton, shortly before 4am on 21 June. They found a residential property engulfed in flames. Firefighters bravely entered the burning building and pulled out the sole occupant, but sadly, despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Launch Investigation, Kin Informed
The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving specialist support. Wiltshire Police extended their condolences, stating, “Our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.”
A joint investigation between Wiltshire Police and the fire service is now under way to discover the cause of the fire, which remains under close examination.
