Three boys have been arrested after police discovered two large knives during a stop and search operation in Ilford. The incident occurred on March 21 when officers responded to reports of “armed and masked” youths in Loxford Lane.

The Metropolitan Police were alerted to a group of youths allegedly carrying weapons and wearing masks in the area. Officers swiftly closed off the scene and conducted a stop and search on a group of young males found near a block of flats.
Following the search, officers seized two large knives and arrested three individuals on suspicion of possession of offensive weapons. The suspects include two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, and a 22-year-old man.

A spokesperson for the Met Police confirmed the arrests:
“Two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, and a 22-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of possession of offensive weapons.
On Friday, 21 March, police were called to Loxford Lane, Ilford, to reports of a group of youths, believed to be armed and wearing masks in the area.
Police attended and located the group in a nearby block of flats.
Two knives were found and seized.
All three suspects have been bailed pending further enquiries.”
