A coastguard helicopter has been deployed as part of an emergency response following reports that a tanker has collided with a cargo vessel in the North Sea, off the coast of East Yorkshire.

HM Coastguard is leading the rescue operation after the alarm was raised shortly before 9.50am this morning.

A helicopter was launched from Humberside, heading directly to the scene to assist, alongside lifeboats from Skegness, Bridlington, Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes, as well as an HM Coastguard fixed-wing aircraft and several nearby vessels equipped with fire-fighting capabilities.
