Wigan Man Jailed for Horrific Sexual Abuse of Young Girl
A 45-year-old man from Wigan has been locked up for making and sharing vile images of himself sexually abusing a young girl online.
FBI and NCA Crack the Case
Gareth Vickers was caught after the FBI monitored his sick chats on Kik, where he used the username ‘daddyv230304’. He shared disturbing photos of the girl in her knickers and training bra, boasting about his twisted desires.
The pictures got worse — ending with images exposing the child’s genitals.
Thanks to a tip-off, National Crime Agency officers swooped on Vickers’ home last April. He admitted, “I was at my lowest.”
Digital Trail Leads Straight to Him
- Forensic experts found Vickers had searched for teenage porn and used TOR to hide his browsing on the dark web.
- He also looked up how to delete his history to cover his tracks.
- An email linked to a takeaway app helped officers connect Vickers’ Kik account to his real identity.
- His hands matched those in the indecent images, cementing the evidence.
Justice Served at Bolton Crown Court
Vickers pleaded guilty in December to assaulting a girl under 13 and distributing indecent images after initially denying charges. Today, he was jailed for four-and-a-half years.
He also received an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
