The Metropolitan Police have renewed their appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of the remains of 48-year-old Fiona Holm, as her family faces their second Christmas without closure. A reward of up to £20,000 is being offered for information leading to the recovery of her remains.
Disappearance and Conviction
Fiona was last seen alive leaving a residence in Verdant Lane, Catford, on June 20, 2023. She was reported missing nine days later. Her partner, Carl Cooper, was convicted in July 2024 of her murder, which took place in the living room of his flat on Broadfield Road, Catford.
Cooper, who also murdered another girlfriend, 41-year-old Naomi Hunte, in Woolwich in 2022, took extensive steps to cover up Fiona’s killing, including lying to her family and police. Fiona’s body has never been recovered.
Police Investigation
Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, leading the investigation, detailed the extensive efforts made to locate Fiona.
“We’ve used specialist teams to search areas she frequented, open spaces, bodies of water, houses, cars, and lockups. Thousands of hours of CCTV footage have been reviewed, substantial mobile phone data examined, and hundreds of witnesses interviewed, including Fiona’s family and friends,” she said.
Despite Cooper’s conviction, the search for Fiona’s remains continues.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have information—no matter how small it may seem—to come forward. Perhaps now, following Cooper’s conviction, you feel able to share what you know,” DCI Blackburn added.
Family’s Heartache
Fiona’s family describe her as a kind and loving person and remain tormented by the lack of closure.
Fiona’s daughter, Savannah, expressed the family’s anguish:
“This is the second Christmas without my beloved mother. The heartache and sleepless nights continue, knowing she’s been out there this long without anyone coming forward.
“The thought of finding her remains is sickening, but it would bring peace to my family. My Nan, in particular, has not been the same—her only concern is where her daughter is. She misses Mum’s big heart and kind ways.”
