Serious Crash in Birmingham Leaves Cyclist Critically Injured
Emergency services rushed to South Road in Northfield, Birmingham, at 4.33pm after a van collided with a cyclist. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor, and a critical care paramedic attended the scene swiftly.
Cyclist Found Seriously Hurt, Given On-Scene Trauma Care
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson revealed the cyclist was already being cared for by bystanders when crews arrived. He sustained serious injuries and was immediately assessed by ambulance staff.
“Ambulance staff administered advanced trauma care to him at the scene and he was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.”

The spokesperson confirmed no other patients required medical attention following the collision, leaving the cyclist as the sole casualty.
