Threats, Theft, and Vandalism: Kevin Reynolds’ Criminal Rampage Ends in Jail

Kevin Reynolds launched a chilling verbal assault over the phone, warning his victim she’d be “put in a box.” The 35-year-old didn’t stop there — he bombarded her with threatening messages on social media the same day.

From Prison Release to House Theft Spree

After a prison stint for an unrelated crime, Reynolds moved into a Kirkby-in-Ashfield home. Within a week, housemates noticed valuables disappearing. Hundreds of pounds’ worth of jewellery, electrical items, and cash vanished between July 7 and July 11.

Criminal Damage and Court Conviction

Amidst his theft spree, Reynolds went on to rip windscreen wipers off a car belonging to someone he knew on July 10. Police charged him with criminal damage, sending menacing messages, and three theft counts.

He admitted the criminal damage but denied other charges. Nonetheless, Reynolds was found guilty at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on September 5. The offences broke an existing suspended sentence from June 2022.

Jail Sentence and Restraining Order

Now incarcerated at HMP Nottingham, Reynolds received a two-year prison sentence. He also faces a five-year restraining order barring contact with all his victims.

PC Summer Watson of Nottinghamshire Police said: “Reynolds is a prolific offender, committing crimes despite a suspended sentence hanging over him. His threatening words were completely unacceptable and surely terrified his victim. He knew exactly the impact his threats would have but said them anyway. Then he betrayed another person’s trust by stealing repeatedly for personal gain and damaging property on purpose. Reynolds crossed the line — we’re pleased he’s now facing the consequences behind bars.”
