Keane Flynn-Harling, 16, of Lambeth, was discovered with a stab wound to his neck in a south London street on Monday, 5 July.
Sadikee Williams, 37, of Robsart Street, SW9, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 21 years on Wednesday, June 8, at Isleworth Crown Court.
On Friday, May 27, he was found guilty of murder in the same court. The killing’s motivation is unknown.
Several members of the public who heard Keane’s calls for aid summoned police to Kibworth Street, SW8, shortly before midnight on Monday, 5 July.
Officers and the London Ambulance Service were sent to the site, but Keane was pronounced dead by paramedics less than 45 minutes later. A special autopsy determined that he died as a consequence of a single severe knife wound to the neck. He’d also gotten a serious stab wound to the face.
He was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon on July 14 and later convicted.
Williams is a violent guy who did not hesitate in killing a teenage lad in cold blood,” said Detective Inspector Adam Guttridge of Specialist Crime South. While the motivations for the murder are unknown, we do know that the instant he saw Keane and his companions that evening, he was determined to cause great harm and had no concern for the ramifications or devastation he would cause. Because of Keane’s actions, his family has had to endure this painful loss. While Williams attempted to cover his tracks, we were able to establish such a strong case and secure this prosecution because to the officers’ painstaking work around CCTV and mobile phone analyses, as well as the testimonies of a number of critical witnesses.
