A Triumph motorcycle was reported stolen from a property in Dartford on Monday, June 6, 2022, after the keys were taken from inside the owner’s home.

Later that day, a police officer on patrol attempted to stop the bike in Gravesend’s Medhurst Gardens.

The rider did not stop and continued at high speed in a dangerous manner.

A police helicopter was dispatched to locate the suspect, and the crew observed him as he dismounted and fled on foot.

Patrols were directed to the area, and a 16-year-old Dartford boy was apprehended nearby.

He was later charged with aggravated vehicle taking, driving without insurance, driving without a licence, and burglary.

The teen was also charged with taking a moped without consent and other driving offences in connection with a separate incident on June 4 in Dartford.

On Tuesday, June 7, the boy appeared in Medway Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to all of the charges. He was remanded in custody to be sentenced on a later date.
