Nat Eddleston, who recently moved in with Ellie, is said by a relative to be in intensive care with a broken neck and collapsed lungs on a life support machine.

Hairdresser Ellie, 31, has appeared on the Channel 4 show alongside her sister Izzi since 2015, and the girls are firm favourites with viewers.

Ellie was said to be ‘very fearful’ Nat could be brain damaged following the accident in their home city of Leeds, West Yorkshire, in the early hours of yesterday (sat).

Nat had been drinking with pals in his local boozer, the Woodman, on Selby Road, Halton, Leeds, on Friday night.

At kicking out time the group left and Nat was struck by a white Seat Leon travelling out of the city. The car, which sustained a smashed windscreen and dented roof in the impact, continued for some distance before stopping.

A family member, who wished not to be identified, said:”Nat is in intensive care with a broken neck, broken back, two collapsed lungs and possible brain damage.
“He is on a life support machine and all the family and Ellie are obviously very worried for him.”

Nat had been drinking in the Woodman pub on Friday night and left with friends after last orders.
He was hit by a white Seat Leon travelling east along Selby Road. After the impact the driver continued for about 100 yards before stopping.
Yesterday, many of Nat’s family were drinking in the Woodman.

The pub landlady said:” They don’t want to talk about what has happened to Nat.
“He had been drinking here and had just left when he was hit by the car.
“The driver drove off at first, but then came back.”

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:” Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in the Halton area of Leeds involving a white Seat Leon and an adult male pedestrian.
“Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, which occurred on Selby Road near to The Woodman pub at around 00:10 this morning (Saturday 19th March 2022).
“The pedestrian has suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision.”
