A Whitstable man has been charged in connection with the attempted robbery of a post office

 

 

A Whitstable man has been charged in connection with the attempted robbery of a post office.

 

Following an investigation by Kent Police, Callum Stewart, of Lucerne Drive, was arrested and charged with attempting to rob a business in Joy Lane, Whitstable of cash and tobacco on Tuesday 7 April 2020.

 

The 29-year-old was also charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

 

Mr Stewart appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court via virtual link the following day where he was remanded in custody.

 

The case will next be heard on 7 May at Canterbury Crown Court.
