Drug Dealer Jailed for Three Years After Met Police Crackdown

Rapper’s Drug Empire Busted

Ervine Kimpalu, a Kings Cross man known online as rap artist “Rico Racks,” was locked up for three years on Friday 18 October. The Blackfriars Crown Court sentenced him after he admitted to two counts of involvement in the supply of Class A drugs and two counts of possession of criminal property.

Criminal Behaviour Order Restricts Online Posts

Kimpalu also received a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order. He’s banned from owning drug-dealing-related items and can only have one registered mobile phone. Critically, he’s barred from using certain drug slang and phrases in his raps and social media posts, including “bandoe,” “trapping,” “Booj,” “1,” “shotting,” “whipping,” and “Kitty.” Authorities slammed his videos for glorifying drug dealing.

Police Seized £11,000 Cash and Class A Drugs

Back in June 2018, Met officers raided multiple properties linked to Kimpalu, finding £3,000 in cash. He evaded arrest then but the investigation continued. A year later, in May 2019, officers searched his home, uncovering over £5,000 in cash plus another £3,000 stashed in a safe. Several phones tied to drug dealing and Class A drugs worth an estimated £7,000 were also seized.

Strong Warning from Police

Detective Constable Arif Sheikh said: “This sentence should send out a message to others involved in drug dealing that they will be caught and face the full force of the law.”
