Woking Drug Dealer Locked Up Over Crack and Cannabis Bust
Dangerous Driver Caught Red-Handed
A Woking drug dealer is now behind bars for over three years after being caught with a stash of crack cocaine and cannabis. Joseph Smith, 30, of Bonsey Lane, Woking, pleaded guilty at Guildford Crown Court last Thursday (20 June) to possession with intent to supply.
Smith’s run-in with the law began shortly after 1am on 6 April when police spotted him driving dangerously along Old Woking High Street. At first, he stopped but then sped off as officers tried to question him.
High-Speed Police Chase Leads to Arrest
The chase ended in Bridge Barn Lane, a dead-end road, where Smith bailed out and ran on foot towards Lockfield Drive. Police quickly caught up and arrested him.
A search of his car uncovered a large quantity of crack cocaine and cannabis hidden under the back seat.
Officers Vow to Keep Fighting Drug Crime
“Smith pleading guilty was the right decision he could have made as the evidence against him was overwhelming,” said investigating officer PC Luke Lightburn.
“He tried to run from us and resist arrest but we caught him in the end, resulting in another drug dealer being taken off our streets.”
“The battle against drug dealers is one that we will never give up on. We will seek to arrest them, charge them and put them before the courts.”
