Probe launched after breaking at Basingstoke football complex

Officers from Hampshire constabulary are appealing for information after money was stolen from a football complex in Basingstoke. The burglary took place between 1am and 1.30am on Monday 23 July, at the Powerleague site in Brighton Way. Two men, wearing tracksuits, balaclavas and trainers, smashed a double glazed window to enter the complex’s building. Once inside, they damaged the alarm system, searched the tills and safe and left having stolen £600. Detective Constable Lisa Robins said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has information about what happened. “We have released CCTV images of two men we would like to speak to about this burglary. “We know you can’t make out their faces, but do you recognise the clothing? “Were you in this area at the time? Do you remember seeing two men wearing tracksuits and balaclavas? “Perhaps you remember seeing a vehicle nearby that seemed out of place? If so, we’d like to hear from you.” If you have any information, please contact us on 101, quoting reference number 44180277505. In an emergency, call 999.
