Fire Crew Tackles Car Fire at Fratton Mcdonalds

Hampshire Fire and Rescue services were called to a car fire on fire in Fratton this morning. (Thursday, March 23.) One fire appliance from Southsea fire station was called to the scene at Fratton Road, Portsmouth at around 10am where on arrival the incident commander confirmed that it was a Mercedes A class car on fire. Hampshire Fire and Rescue Services told us that they believe the car fire was caused because of an electrical fault. The blaze caused severe damage to the car according to fire services. The fire service blocked one lane for scene safety whilst their crews tackled the engulfed vehicle. The fire crew from Southsea the fire with one hose reel and two sets of breathing apparatus, and by 10.20am the fire had been extinguished and crews were damping down the blaze with one hose.
