Thieves Swipe Vital Gear from Cheshire Search and Rescue Van!
Last night, a member of the Cheshire Search and Rescue team had their car burgled, with crucial kit stolen. The haul includes high-value survival and rescue equipment – gear no good Samaritan wants falling into the wrong hands.
Stolen Military-Style Rucksack and Accessories
The thieves made off with a Helikontex Direct Action Ghost rucksack, grey/green with reflective and glow-in-the-dark markers. It also had a Thin Blue, Green and Red Line patch on the top section.
- Two Hill People Gear bottle holsters (grey, featuring the HPG animal skull logo) attached to the bag’s belt
- Diver’s knife with a black plastic handle, 2-inch fixed blade, flat tip, and cord cutter, holstered on the right side
- Vango 100 1-Season sleeping bag in grey/red stuffsack with a built-in mosquito net (stuff sack’s compression strap is broken)
Clothing and Survival Essentials Nabbed
- Berghaus waterproof trousers (grey with black/red zip lining and black ankle patches)
- Keela microfleece jacket in black and red, sporting a Search and Rescue logo on one arm
- Keela insulated red jacket with removable arms and silver logo on the chest
- Jetboil Flash Stove with neoprene sleeve – essential for quick hot drinks in the wild
Critical Rescue Tools and Documentation Stolen
- Cheshire Search and Rescue paperwork
- Battery holders: two yellow 4xAA holders and two glow-in-the-dark 6xAAA holders
- Hill People Gear Kit Bag V2, a black chest pack with harness and plastic ‘G’ clips
- Officer Survival Solutions Trauma Kit, including first aid shears and triage cards in clear plastic pouch
- 7″ trauma bandage in a silver vacuum pack
- Leatherman Sidekick multitool (silver metal) with a loose plier side due to a broken clip
- Suunto M3 Global compass with attached translucent grid reference tool
- Two Rite In The 1 Green A5 notepads; one contains contact details for Cheshire Search and Rescue
- Sharx Pealess Rex whistle
- Baofeng 1 radio and handset
