Third Woman Arrested After Shocking Somerstown Double Stabbing

A third woman has been arrested after a brutal double stabbing rocked Somerstown on Friday evening. Police described the latest arrest as “clutching at straws,” coming just a day after two other women were bailed following the attack.

Investigation Stalls as Police Hunt Attackers

The 35-year-old suspect, currently of no fixed address, is being questioned by Hampshire Police’s Major Investigation Team at wiltshire999.co.uk/where/portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth Central Police Station. Officers carried out a thorough search of Somerstown on Saturday morning, but the hunt for the attackers and weapons is still at a standstill.

Despite their efforts, detectives have failed to find the two men responsible or recover the knives used. Both stabbing victims – alleged participants in a botched drug deal – have refused to cooperate, as have the women arrested alongside them.

Victims Left Fighting for Lives After Street Attack

  • Two local men were viciously stabbed on Somers Road around 8.30pm in front of shocked bystanders.
  • The 50-year-old victim remains in a critical condition at Southampton General Hospital.
  • The other, aged 31, is serious but stable.

A witness described the attackers as two South London drug dealers in their mid to late 20s — one mixed race, one white. One used a 12-inch kitchen knife, which has not yet been recovered. After the attack, the men fled on foot.

Both victims desperate for help, stumbled into a local convenience store where staff quickly called a taxi to get them to hospital. The shop workers were traumatised but unharmed.

Drug Deal Gone Wrong Leads to Chaos

Police believe the stabbing followed a heroin deal arranged with the arrested women in a nearby women’s hostel. Riot police and plain-clothed detectives raided the hostel late Friday night, arresting two women – a 26-year-old resident and a 31-year-old Portsmouth local. Both women are now bailed pending further inquiries on conspiracy and drug supply offences.

Police have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses. A spokesman said: “We’d like to hear from the two men who were seen running away from the area or anyone who witnessed the assault or saw the men fleeing Somers Road.” Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting 441 7008 1395.

The Attackers Are Still on the Loose

With no arrests yet of the knife-wielding assailants, locals are urged to stay vigilant. The violent double stabbing has left a community shocked and demanding answers.
