Thirteen Found Cramped Inside Freezer Lorry on M25
A shocking discovery on the M25 this afternoon as police halted a freezer lorry with 13 people trapped inside. The group, including 10 adults and three children, were rescued after desperate calls from inside the freezing container warned they couldn’t breathe.
Emergency Response on Chertsey Housing Estate
Officers pulled the lorry over near Hillswood Drive in Chertsey just after 3pm on Tuesday. A huge emergency response followed, with police, ambulance crews, and a specialist HART team from South East Coast Ambulance Service rushing to the scene.
All Rescued in Good Health, But Detained for Illegal Entry
Paramedics confirmed all 13 were checked and thankfully in good health. Three juveniles were handed over to social services, while the 10 adults were detained at Dover. The lorry driver is cooperating with police as inquiries continue.
A South East Coast Ambulance spokeswoman said: “We attended together with the Police and assessed 13 people taken out of the back of this vehicle.”
Investigation Underway with UK Visas and Immigration
Police revealed the investigation will now be passed on to UK Visas and Immigration. Multiple panicked calls were made — one reportedly from the driver, another from someone trapped inside the freezer compartment. Officers initially feared some were unresponsive.
