Urgent Search Underway for Missing Man Last Seen in Dewsbury
Police are growing increasingly worried about 60-year-old Robert Bidski, who vanished without a trace on Monday evening.
Last Seen in Chickenley, Car Found Nearby
Robert was reported missing by his family around 9pm on Monday, October 10. He was last spotted in the Chickenley area of Dewsbury after visiting for the weekend. His car was discovered abandoned on Denby Dale Road near the Bretton roundabout.
Massive Search Effort in Full Swing
Officers have been scouring areas far and wide, including Hampshire, where Robert lives. CCTV footage released this week shows Robert just before he disappeared.
Described as a slim, 5ft 10 white man with grey hair and a goatee, Robert was wearing a grey waist-length wool jacket, faded blue jeans, and grey shoes when last seen.
The search involves police on foot, helicopters, dog units, and specialist underwater teams combing key spots near Denby Dale Road. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and Holme Valley Mountain Rescue have also been drafted in to help.
Family and Police Plead for Information
Detective Sergeant Peter Usher of Kirklees CID said: “We are growing gravely concerned for Robert and continue to appeal for anyone who has seen him since late Monday evening, or who may have any information as to his whereabouts to come forward as a matter of urgency.”
Robert’s family added: “Every family member is deeply worried for his safety. If anyone has information, please don’t hesitate to contact the police. Robert, if you see this, please get in touch.”
