Southampton Smashes It with Free Summer Fun as ParkLives Rolls In

Get ready, Southampton! Thousands of locals are set to dive into free, action-packed activities this summer as ParkLives launches in the city for the very first time. From today, parks and green spaces will buzz with energy, thanks to this national programme backed by Coca-Cola Great Britain and Active Nation.

Free Sports and Activities for Everyone

Whether you’re into jogging, cricket, paddle board yoga, or just looking for some family fun, ParkLives has something for you. With 20 different activities, all entirely free, there’s no excuse to stay indoors. Sessions are run by trained local leaders in 11 parks, including:

  • Mansel Park
  • Riverside Park
  • Hoglands Park
  • Weston Shore
  • Southampton Common

The programme kicks off this week and runs through to September, with extra sessions during school holidays. Book your spot now at www.parklives.com.

Boosting Community Health & Wellbeing

“ParkLives is a brilliant addition to Southampton’s wellbeing scene. It builds on the huge success of our Half Marathon, Sky Ride, and popular parkruns,” said Mike Harris, Growth Director at Southampton City Council. “These free activities help local families meet new people and offer a stepping stone to a lifelong healthy lifestyle.”

Coca-Cola’s Community Commitment

Liz Lowe, ParkLives lead at Coca-Cola Great Britain, added: “We’re thrilled to bring ParkLives to Southampton. It’s about having fun, trying new activities, and enjoying the great outdoors with friends and family. ParkLives is a long-term project that’s growing strong across ten UK cities.”

Launched in 2014, ParkLives is part of Coca-Cola Great Britain’s £20 million pledge to boost community activity. The programme already energises cities like Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, and Swansea, and now Southampton joins the list.
