Burglary Shock at Andover School: Police Hunt Man Over Stolen Purse
Police are on the lookout for a man linked to a burglary at The Education Centre in Andover. The incident happened at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, March 16, just after the school day ended but while staff were still inside.
Man Targets Staff Purse in Office Raid
The suspect broke into the centre on Smannell Road, rummaged through an office, and made off with a purse belonging to a staff member. The claret-coloured purse, decorated with small blue and green flowers, contained £30 in cash, credit cards, and sentimental photos.
Distinctive Bobble Hat May Be Key to Catching Burglar
The man is described as white, around 6ft tall with an average build. He was spotted wearing a green jacket with two breast pockets, blue jeans, light trainers, and a very distinctive bobble hat. The hat was dark with light-coloured stars and featured a large dark bobble on top.
“The man wore a particularly distinctive hat and may have stood out to someone returning home along Smannell Road that day,” said PC Sarah Warner from Andover police.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers want anyone who spotted the man or can provide details about the direction he headed to come forward. If you have any information, contact Andover police station immediately.
