One concerned local told us, “If they were pets left outside overnight, the RSPCA would act for cruelty!” The harsh reality is these vulnerable people are being left to fend for themselves.
Pop Up Soup Kitchen Owner Blasts Official Bodies for Ignoring the Homeless
The owner of the Pop Up Soup Kitchen, one of the few voluntary groups still helping, spoke out:
“I can’t believe there’s nowhere for these people to go. We’re one of the last organisations trying to care for them, but official bodies treat them like they don’t exist—abandoned and completely destitute.”
They added, “Not a single councillor has stepped up to help or even acknowledge the crisis. I saw some protecting their frost-sensitive plants while homeless people freeze on our streets.”
Promises Made, But Where’s the Help?
The night shelter has handed out Pop Up Soup Kitchen contact cards to those left sleeping rough, pledging to feed them all. But with no official backing, will those promises be kept?
