HORRFIC KILLING ‘Quiet’ Uxbridge Dogwalker Fatally Stabbed Trying to Save Boy and Father

 

A peaceful binman, known for his quiet nature and devotion to his dog, was brutally stabbed to death in Uxbridge after intervening in a violent attack on a 14-year-old boy and his father.

Heroic Attempt Ends in Tragedy

Wayne Broadhurst, 49, a council binman and dog owner, was walking his dog near his home on Midhurst Gardens, Hillingdon, when he witnessed a man waving a knife and attacking the boy and his father. Neighbours say Wayne stepped in to protect them but was stabbed at around 5pm on Monday, right outside his house.

The Met Police swiftly arrested a 22-year-old Afghan migrant on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. The suspect, who appeared calm during arrest, was tasered by officers before being taken into custody. Witness Paul O’Brien said the blade looked around 30cm long.

Community in Shock

Locals mourn Wayne as “a quietly spoken, unobtrusive man who wouldn’t hurt a fly.” One neighbour who paid tribute and lay flowers at the scene:

“No-one in our community would have a bad word to say about this lovely man who unbelievably and shockingly was murdered near his own home. He was devoted to his beautiful dog. Our whole community is devastated.”

Wayne’s partner shared a heartfelt message on social media, saying: “I’ll miss you for the rest of my life. I wish you were here.” Flowers and candles were laid at the scene as neighbours held a minute’s silence.

The dog is said to be safe at home but heartbroken after witnessing his owner’s murder.

Suspect’s Background and Investigation

The Home Office confirmed the suspect is an Afghan national who entered the UK illegally in 2020 and is not housed in any asylum accommodation, despite online rumours. Authorities urged the public to come forward with any information as the investigation continues.

A spokesperson said:

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of those impacted by this horrific incident. The priority must now be for the police to investigate so those responsible can be brought to justice.”

  • Residents heard screaming during the attack.
  • CCTV shows police confronting the suspect with tasers raised.
  • A neighbour described Wayne as “the last person on Earth you’d expect to be targeted.”
  • Flowers and condolences continue pouring in for the tragic victim and his grieving family.
