LUCKY ESCAPE Car Skids Off Road and Ends Up Partly Underwater in Rye

Police rushed to the scene after a car slid off the road in Rye and ended up partially submerged in shallow water. The vehicle took an “unexpected detour” after sliding on a wet grass verge.

Neighbourhood Police Team on the Case

Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team arrived quickly and confirmed no one was hurt. After checking the driver, police ruled out any offences.

Driver Warned About Wet Weather Hazards

The driver was given a stern reminder to adjust their driving to match the soggy conditions plaguing East Sussex. With recent wet weather making roads slippery, cautious driving is a must.
