Launch of Brick-and-Mortar Casino in Milton Keynes

One of the leading gambling companies in the UK, Merkur, is expanding its reach by establishing a new brick-and-mortar casino venue in Milton Keynes. The casino has been built within Xscape, an already existing entertainment complex at the heart of Milton Keynes, and is expected to be open to the public on Saturday, 1st November 2025.

There is an ongoing demand for more operational traditional casinos in the UK, as a lot of these venues are few and far between and so highly inaccessible to many gamblers. Luckily, however, UK gamblers can access a whole world of gambling content through any UK casino not on gamstop. These are online casino platforms that offer their users impressive bonuses and rewards, larger game libraries and much more freedom than other online alternatives. On top of this, many of these sites are also known for their expert integration of unique payment methods, such as cryptocurrency, which makes them highly appealing to a wider variety of people.

Merkur’s new casino will be 22,000 square feet across, and its generous gaming floor is to have a total of 72 slot machines, 26 electronic roulette machines and 15 live gaming tables. On top of this, the venue will also host a 4,700 square foot bar as well as an event space, which will not only host live performances and community events, but will also be available to hire out for private functions.

The location of Milton Keynes Xscape was selected by Merkur due to several different factors. For one, Xscape itself is already a highly successful entertainment complex in a central location. In addition to this, the UK head office for Merkur also operates from within Milton Keynes, making it a highly beneficial location for the company on the whole.

Once the casino is opened to the public, the running of the venue will create over one hundred jobs across management, gaming and hospitality sectors. Those who fill these new roles are also set to be guided and trained through several of Merkur’s pre-existing development programmes, which aim to aid employees through their employment with Merkur in the long term and can also aid with career progression within the company. Other jobs were momentarily filled during the construction of the venue, and the company did everything they could to work alongside regional partners whenever this was possible.

During launch day on the 1st of November, Merkur is holding an opening event for the casino. Those who attend will be able to witness a ribbon-cutting ceremony and live entertainment, as well as be given the opportunity to win £10,000 in cash at an official prize draw. This celebration speaks to Merkur’s continuous dedication to casino gaming in the United Kingdom, which is further highlighted by its recent expansion into the Northern Ireland market, which took place when it acquired Oasis Retail Services.
