A £10,000 reward is up for grabs to catch the culprits behind a shocking arson attack on a mosque in Peacehaven, East Sussex.

Fire Rips Through Mosque as Worshippers Escape Unharmed

The blaze erupted on the evening of Saturday, 4 October 2025, at the mosque on Phyllis Avenue, causing major damage.

Luckily, worshippers inside heard a disturbance and spotted flames in time to escape without injury.

Published footage from Sussex Police reveals two masked men in dark clothing approaching the mosque’s entrance before dousing it with an accelerant and igniting the fire.

Crimestoppers Offers £10,000 for Info Leading to Convictions

Crimestoppers, the independent charity, slammed the “shocking and dangerous” attack and is offering up to £10,000 for information that leads to conviction.

“This was a shocking and dangerous incident that could have had devastating consequences. We are urging anyone who knows who was responsible to contact us. You can remain completely anonymous — we never ask for your name or trace your call.”

Police continue to probe and want any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from Phyllis Avenue on the night, to come forward.
