Milton Keynes Worker Nabbed Red-Handed
A Milton Keynes distribution centre employee has been jailed after stealing car parts worth around £1 million. Konrad Labinski, 41, was arrested while trying to pinch even more goods at his workplace on March 7.
Thames Valley Police launched an investigation after reports of missing stock surfaced on March 4. The trail led to an eBay account believed to be selling the stolen parts.
Over 1,000 Stolen Parts Found at Home
Police searched Labinski’s Padstowe Avenue home and uncovered more than 1,000 stolen car parts valued at about £1 million. It’s thought the thefts happened over two years. All recovered items have been returned to the company.
Labinski, who had worked for the company over 20 years, pleaded guilty to theft by employee on April 25 but refused to comment during police questioning.
Serious Sentence Sends Stark Warning
“He abused the trust that was given to him to steal from them,” said Detective Constable Vince Higgins of Milton Keynes CID. “He went from a well-paid job with perks to prison, losing his job and company car.”
“This case shows the courts take employee theft very seriously. We hope this sends a clear message to others thinking of committing similar crimes.”
