A 19-year-old predator has been locked up after coercing dozens of children into sending explicit images. Cory Jones targeted 37 youngsters aged 10 to 16, using fake profiles and his own identity to groom them on social media.
How He Got Away With It
Jones didn’t just ask for inappropriate photos and videos — he also sent explicit content of himself to the victims. When some kids refused his demands, he resorted to blackmail, threatening to expose their images on social media unless they complied. Police later found 172 indecent images of children on his phone.
Massive Abuse Revealed in Court
Jones pleaded guilty to 69 charges including blackmail, causing children to engage in sexual activity, and distributing indecent images. His offending spree lasted from September 2022 until November 2024.

Justice Served
On 17 October 2025, Cory Jones was sentenced to eight years behind bars at Cardiff Crown Court. A lifelong sexual harm prevention order and sex offender registration were also imposed.
“Cory Jones was deceptive and manipulative, coercing children to satisfy his own sexual gratification,” said Lisa McCarthy from the CPS. “We thank the victims for their courage and will continue to use the full force of the law against child sexual offenders.”
Jones hails from Ynyswen, Rhondda. Reporting restrictions remain in place.
