A suspected grenade has triggered a massive emergency response on Sheffield Street, Heaton Norris, Stockport. The bomb squad is now on high alert as the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team moves in.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed the EOD is currently at the scene, carefully assessing the device and working to remove it safely.

“Emergency services are currently responding to an ongoing incident on Sheffield Street, Heaton Norris. A suspected grenade has been found and a cordon is in place while enquiries are ongoing,” said a police spokesperson.
