Lorry Cab Detaches from Trailer

Police were called just before 11am after a lorry overturned on the carriageway. Shocking images circulating online showed the cab completely detached from the trailer, causing chaos on this major route.

Recovery Operation Causes Long Delays

Kent County Council Highways confirmed the road remained closed throughout the day to allow the recovery team to clear the overturned HGV. The situation caused significant disruption for commuters and freight drivers alike.

Road Reopens After Trailer Cleared

The trailer was finally removed, and police lifted the closure shortly before 3.40pm, reopening the A249 to traffic. Drivers are urged to check for any ongoing delays in the area.
