The victim, who sustained a stab wound, managed to make his way to a nearby shop where he sought assistance and an ambulance was called. He was subsequently taken to the hospital and received treatment for a wound to his neck/shoulder area. Fortunately, he has since been discharged.
As part of their ongoing investigation, detectives have released images of a man they believe may have information vital to their inquiries. The individual is described as black, of lean build, in his early 20s, and standing between 5ft 11ins and 6ft 4ins tall. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue puffer jacket, a dark hoodie and bottoms, and grey trainers.
Detective Sergeant Georgina Gallagher, of Nottinghamshire Police, emphasised the seriousness of the assault, stating, “We treat all forms of knife crime with the utmost seriousness, and we are working tirelessly to find the person responsible for this attack, including trawling through CCTV footage.”
DS Gallagher further urged members of the public who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and who could possess crucial information to come forward and assist with the investigation. She specifically called upon anyone who recognises the man depicted in the released images to contact the police as soon as possible.
“If you know who he is or are the man in the picture,” DS Gallagher appealed, “we would ask you to get in touch as soon as possible.”
