Paramedics Rush In, But Man Dies at Scene
Emergency services raced to the scene, but despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the spot. Because a police vehicle was involved, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has launched a full investigation.
Road Closures Cause Major Traffic Snarls
- The A259 was shut both ways while police and investigators examined the crash site.
- The road has now reopened but remains closed at the junction of Bramber Avenue, causing ongoing delays.
Chief Superintendent Jo Banks said: “This is a tragic incident and we are fully supporting the IOPC investigation. We want to thank drivers and residents for their patience while the A259 South Coast Road was closed.”
