Fire Crews Cut Man Free from Van following Crash near Nursling

A man had to be cut free from a van after crashing into a tree in Nursling. Emergency services were called to Romsey Road (A3057), close to the Lee Drove junction near the golf course, at 11.25am. A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said they sent two engines,from Redbridge and the other from Eastleigh, to the scene where they had to cut the driver, believed to be in his 40s, free. The man was taken to Southampton General Hospital with suspected back injuries. The Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said the road was partially closed but the southbound side remained opened while they dealt with the incident.
