A 42-year-old man from Deal has been locked up for 18 years after being found guilty of raping two teenage girls. Steven Biggs, of Owen Square, was convicted at england/england/canterbury/”>canterbury/”>Canterbury Crown Court following a three-day trial.
Horrific Attack in Deal
The shocking attack happened in the early hours of 4 August 2020 on Freemans Way. Biggs was approached by two girls, aged 13 and 14, who asked for a cigarette outside a residential property. He invited them inside.
Biggs then coerced one girl into a bedroom and raped her. When she tried to escape with her friend, Biggs dragged them both Backback in and committed further assaults.
Police Investigate, Victims Show Bravery
The horrific crime was reported to Kent Police on 3 September 2020, after one victim confided in a family member. Detectives launched a swift investigation, arresting Biggs on 29 November 2020. He faced 10 sexual offence charges, including three counts of rape.
Biggs refused to give evidence during his trial. The jury found him guilty on 24 September 2025. He now faces 18 years behind bars, must register as a sex offender indefinitely, and is subject to a 25-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
