Police Hunt Shanklin Armed Robber after Supermarket Robbery
Police are searching for a masked man who last night (Wednesday) entered the Co-op Welcome on Arthurs Hill in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. The robber assaulting one member of staff and threaten an another with a metal bar. As first reported, the masked robber entered the shop on Arthur’s Hill at the junction with St Martin’s Avenue and assaulted a male member of staff, who is said to have received a broken nose. Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that they now looking for the robber who ran off towards the Cliff Path after the cash was taken from the store. Police have confirmed they are investigating whether the robbery at Welcome Coop at Arthurs Hill is linked with a similar incident in Sandown two weeks ago The wanted man is described by Police as white and is said to have been wearing a balaclava, gloves, a dark jacket, dark trousers and white trainers.
