Police Respond to Serious Incident

A man was arrested after a woman was found critically injured in england/Forestforest-gate/”>Forest Gate. The Metropolitan Police were alerted to reports of an injured person on Romford Road at 3:23 PM on September 6. Officers, alongside the London Ambulance Service, arrived at the scene where a woman in her 40s was discovered with potentially life-threatening and life-changing injuries.

Victim in Hospital

The woman was transported to the hospital, where she continues to receive medical treatment.

Arrest Made

A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment, grievous bodily harm, and dangerous driving. He remains in custody as investigations are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: “At 15:23hrs on Saturday, 6 September, officers and the London Ambulance Service responded to reports of an injured person on Romford Road, Newham E7. A woman in her 40s was found at the scene with potentially life-changing and life-threatening injuries. She was taken to hospital and continues to receive medical treatment. A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving and false imprisonment. He remains in police custody. An investigation has been launched and enquiries continue.”

Road Closure

Newham Council has warned road users of a “serious road traffic incident” that has resulted in the closure of Romford Road in both directions.
