Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 3.30am on Friday (5 September). The A414 is expected to remain shut for most of the morning.
The road is expected to remain shut for most of the morning, and possibly until lunchtime, while collision investigators carry out enquiries. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes due to the closure.
An Essex Police spokesperson said that the closure is a precaution after the accident.
