Firefighters battled a late-night blaze at a home in Hampstead after being called to reports of a house fire on West Heath Road.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) confirmed that four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were dispatched to the scene shortly after 1:30am yesterday (3 September).

Crews reported that part of the lower-ground floor of a detached house had been damaged by fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The incident was brought under control by 3:10am, with firefighters from Soho, Kentish Town and Finchley fire stations attending.

Cause of Fire

An initial investigation suggested the fire was accidental, although the exact cause has been recorded as undetermined.

Residents in the area were woken by the sound of emergency vehicles as crews worked to prevent the blaze from spreading further.

The Brigade praised the swift response of firefighters which limited the damage to the property.
