Police have confirmed that a man arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing on Trafalgar Road is no longer in a critical condition, as a murder investigation continues.
Officers were called to an address on Trafalgar Road at around 10.20pm on Wednesday, 27 August, following reports of a stabbing.
A 29-year-old woman was found with serious injuries and, despite the efforts of emergency services, she died at the scene.
A 33-year-old man, believed to be known to her, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and arrested on suspicion of murder. Police confirmed today that he has now recovered from his injuries and is no longer in a critical condition.
No charges have yet been brought.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family, who at this unimaginably difficult time are being supported by specialist officers.
We know this incident will cause great concern within the community. While we are confident this is an isolated incident, residents will see an increased police presence in the area.
If you are concerned, please speak to one of the officers on patrol.”
A police Cordoncordon was in place on Tyler Street in the days following the incident, as detectives carried out enquiries.
