British Transport Police are appealing for help tracing relatives of a 34-year-old man who died on the tracks in Wollaton.

British Transport Police (BTP) have launched an appeal to locate the family of a man who tragically died on the railway in Nottingham earlier this month.

At around 2.30pm on Thursday, 14 August, officers were called to reports of a casualty on the railway in the Wollaton area. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file has been prepared for the coroner.

Victim identified as Iranian national

The man has since been formally identified as Javad Pierovy-Khah, aged 34, who was living in Nottingham at the time of his death.

Mr Pierovy-Khah was born in Hamedan, Iran, and is believed to have arrived in the UK in 2005. He was around 5ft 9ins tall, of average build, with short black hair. At the time of his death, he was wearing a blue hoody.

Officers unable to trace family

Despite extensive enquiries, officers have been unable to trace any relatives or next of kin to inform them of the sad news.

A BTP spokesperson said:

“This is a deeply tragic incident. Despite our best efforts, we have been unable to identify or contact any family members of Mr Pierovy-Khah. We are appealing to anyone who may know his relatives, or have information that could help us reach them, to come forward.”
