MAJOR BLAZE Massive fire damages at least 100 apartments in West Houston; firefighters injured

A massive blaze has ripped through an apartment complex in West Houston, damaging at least 100 units and leaving multiple residents displaced.

The fire broke out on Wednesday morning and quickly spread through the multi-building complex. Two firefighters were injured while responding to the incident. Their conditions have not yet been confirmed.

Authorities have not released details on whether any residents were injured, and the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Houston Fire Department crews remain on scene battling hot spots and assisting displaced residents. Emergency shelters are expected to be set up for those affected.

Road closures and heavy smoke have been reported in the surrounding area. Officials have urged nearby residents to avoid the area and keep windows closed due to air quality concerns.

Further updates, including the cause of the fire and the status of injured firefighters, are expected later today.
