Police investigating the death of a man in Leysdown-on-Sea have recovered a silver Volkswagen Golf believed to belong to the victim from a nearby car park.
The fatal attack took place on the beach opposite a local pub on Sunday evening (10 August), prompting a major police presence in the Warden Bay Road area.
Chris Prime, landlord of the pub, confirmed officers had attended the premises on Sunday night to review CCTV from 12 cameras covering both inside and outside the venue. He said the footage showed the man involved had not been inside the pub and had not approached the beach from Warden Bay village.
"It is assumed he had come along the beach from the Leysdown direction," Mr Prime explained. "The alarm was raised to us when we were asked to use the emergency defibrillator mounted on our property, which was taken over before the emergency services arrived."
Mr Prime personally transported the device to the scene to assist. He declined to comment further, citing the ongoing police investigation.
A 16-year-old girl and two boys, aged 14 and 15, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.
Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information is urged to call Kent Police on 01622 690690 quoting reference 10-1384. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
