A major fire broke out at an industrial unit in Wharf Road, Gravesend late on Friday night, prompting a large-scale response from Kent Fire and Rescue Service and partner agencies.
The blaze, which began shortly after 9pm on Friday 8 August, sent thick smoke across the area, leading to public safety warnings for residents and motorists to keep windows and doors closed.
At the height of the incident, eight fire engines, a bulk water carrier, and specialist crews wearing breathing apparatus fought the flames using main jets.
Kent Police and UK Power Networks engineers also attended the scene to assist with safety measures.
By 6am today (Saturday 9 August), Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the fire had been extinguished and the air quality warning lifted. Crews are scheduled to return to the site at 10am to check for any remaining hotspots.
